Meet Founder
Rich Rodgers, Esq.

CEO of StartLegal.com and StartupTechLaw. A corporate attorney, founder, and marketing operator who blends legal judgment with hands-on startup experience.

Rich Rodgers, Esq., Founder & CEO of StartLegal

My career started in the dot-com boom in 1999 as a corporate attorney at a large Philadelphia firm in the venture capital and technology group. Since then, I have launched VC-backed companies and spent close to two decades as a digital marketing agency owner and as a CMO across startups through pre-IPO unicorns.

As a startup founder, I worked with leading legal minds from Philadelphia to Silicon Valley. The legal work mattered, but steady support from a trusted ally often mattered more, especially during hard moments. A reliable sounding board sharpened strategy. Introductions to the right investors accelerated launch plans. Strong legal guardrails kept the business on track.

I now aim to provide that same support. I learn your business quickly, give direct and actionable guidance, and commit to outcomes. Combined with expertise in account-based marketing, demand generation, and data-driven growth, my goal is to deliver practical business and marketing advice paired with focused legal insight.

How StartupTechLaw Works with Startups and Founders

StartupTechLaw is a boutique startup law practice led by Rich Rodgers, Esq. The focus is formation, financings, commercial agreements, trademarks, and practical guidance for founders. The approach is hands-on and outcome driven, with clear communication and predictable workflows for busy teams.

StartupTechLaw supports founders from formation through funding and beyond with counsel that is precise and practical. Engagements start with clear scoping so teams know deliverables, timelines, and next steps. Communication is direct and focused on decisions that move the company forward.

The firm handles Delaware formations, founder and advisor equity, cap table setup, corporate governance, and essential filings. For fundraising, the practice prepares investor-ready materials and documentation for SAFEs, convertible notes, and priced rounds. Counsel is coordinated with go-to-market needs so legal steps do not slow product, sales, or hiring.

Service models are designed for predictability. Founders can choose subscription or flat-fee options for common work, or traditional hourly if preferred. The goal is access to counsel when choices are being made.
